T. caput medusae x brachycalous
Just as the name suggests, this species is a hybrid or “plant child” of the Tillandsia caput medusae and brachycaulos. It has long and thin leaves of a lime green color that are spread out and have droopy tips. The leaves at the center portion of the plant are much shorter in length compared to the ones growing around the plant. Over time the leaves blush into a light shade of red, then vibrant red bracts emerge from the top and bloom deep violet flowers. This fiery piece is colorful yet simple, it would make a great accent piece that complements other elements of a certain setting.
