Tillandsia bulbosa Belize is a larger and more robust form of the species, native to Central America. It is known for its glossy, bulbous base and long, twisting green leaves that give it a sculptural, almost alien-like appearance. The surface is smooth with fewer trichomes compared to other airplants, and it absorbs water efficiently through its leaf surface. During bloom, the plant produces a bright red to maroon inflorescence with purple tubular flowers.
