T. ionantha Variegata
The Tillandsia ionantha variegata is a unique species, the name “variegata” comes from the term “variegated” which means that the plant has streaks of a different color. The plant’s main color is lettuce green, but the leaves also exhibit streaks of yellow/white. Then as the plant matures, some of its leaves blush into a deep crimson shade. The top leaves remain upright while the base leaves tend to spread out and curve towards various directions. Beautiful violet flowers bloom out of the center, amongst the plant’s upright blades. This piece looks to have been beautifully designed, by it’s graceful form and eye catching color scheme one may not believe that this appearance is something designed by nature itself.
