This epiphyte has a dark, and very noticeable black base, where very thin, pale green leaves are attached. These leaf blades end in fine points and grow in one direction, that direction being upwards. But, once its blooming period starts, the leaves start to slowly spread out in order to make room in the center for the inflorescence that is about to emerge. Also, during that time, some of its center leaves start to blush. Once the plant does bloom, a towering thick spike starts to rise up, the bottom being a very vibrant orange, fading into red, then a green color towards the top. Then soon, deep violet flowers with white centers start to bloom as well. This plant is a very striking piece because all its colors are very vibrant and its color scheme seems to give off a very fiery vibe, which can definitely make this plant the center of attention in one’s home or garden.
